Is Hillary out?
Who knows. But I will tell you one thing: I will never EVER forget what Obama did with regard to Michigan and Florida. He stole this nomination, and as far as I'm concerned is no better than Bush in 2000.
At least Bush is honest about it, he's a rethug and he admits it. Obama? He's a wolf in sheep's clothing, spreading the gospel of progressiveness while disenfranchising millions of voters, democratic voters.
This is totally unacceptable.
So write your 'healing' diaries, Obamatons. Act all gracious, wonder out loud how we can be so 'polarizing' in this your hour of victory. Wonder why we can't just 'come together'...Well guess what? I've been called a republican by you classless losers hundreds of times these past couple of months. So now you want my vote?
Now you want to bury the hatchet?
I don't buy it. I know what your candidate is. He is a chicago styled thug Daleyite. Obama is all that is wrong with this party.
From disenfranchising Florida to bullying undemocratic tactics during each caucus to lying about Hillary to race baiting to dishonestly calling Hillary a racist to misogynistic remarks etc etc and so on so on and so on...(there are really too many to note here)
I say it now.
I will NEVER vote for him.
Kiss my butt.
THE FOLLOWING IS NOT ACTUALLY PART OF THE DIARY...
This is not part of the diary. You can skip this part and it won't take away from the overall effect of the diary. It's only meant to explain why I wrote a one-sentence diary.
Usually I try to at least get a few paragraphs in before hitting the post button, and find this to be a good practice. People don't like one-sentence diaries, essentially. They like some meat in their daily discourse. Some facts, analogies, etc. One-sentence diaries are historically a loser.
However, what is the worth of a diary? Its intrinsic value as a vessel of empirical thought? It's bulk quantity, measured in characters used?
Or its ability to stimulate discussion?
I think that last option. Which is why I will now post a one-sentence diary, or should I rephrase, The Best Little One Sentence Diary Ever.
THIS ENDS THE PRE-DIARY COMMENTARY. THE ACTUAL DIARY IS NOW COMMENCING.
...
Jeremiah Wright is planning on releasing a book in October, discuss.
Context Context Context
Well.
What a day it's been.
I spent all last night watching the Wright speech at the National Press Club. Over and over. What was I doing that for? Why the self-punishment?
I was looking for context.
Breaking!! In an interview with Bill Moyers tge Reverend Jeremiah Wright is apparently claiming that Obama is only appearing to disagree with his views because of political necessity.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0 408/Wrights_defense.html
Incredibly, the Reverend seems to be saying that Obama is making these claims (about disagreeing with Wrights remarks) only because of expediency. I dont know about anyone else, but I actually believed that Obama most likely didn't hear these crazy things (at least not the very worst)...But after this interview, I'm starting to wonder.I remember during the senate elections how I was dumbfounded that Joe Lieberman, our VP choice in 2000, could let himself get in such a pickle that his own party, the party that he worked for his whole career, could consider him someone worthy of ostracization.
I remember being angry with Lieberman. I bought into the whole argument that he was simply a republican in disguise. I was enraged that he beat Lamont as an Indy. Infuriated, even.
Now I'm wondering if ol` Joe wasn't something of a prophet.
I want to take this moment to thank Markos over at Daily KOS for being the catylist for this horrorshow of a democratic primary.
Why do I blame KOS?
Because of the primary gaming and the Hillary hatefest.
I know this is old news, but I wanted to add a bit of perspective to it.
Consider that when Markos urged his automatons to game the Michigan primary, we were still in a relatively mild primary season. Hillary and Obama were playing nice, and we were having a healthy debate on the issues.
Enter Kos.
After urging folks to game the repug primary, things started getting out of hand. First he started his despicable lies about Hillary (remember 'she darkened obama's skin' idiocy?) and this was just the beginning.
He could have simply let his site be a place where issues could be discussed in full. A place for all democrats to come together to rationally decide on the best person for the job. But noooo...instead, he became a paid Obama partisan, squandering the goodwill of fellow dems on this one election season. He created an environment where anyone who wasn't a total goofball obamaton was shouted down, TR'd and basically rendered a non=person.
What was he promised in return? A spot in the administration? A cushy job as a Washington insider? Finally, a chance to come in from the cold of blogger land to the big bucks of big time politics?
This we may never know. Suffice it to say that he has screwed himself, and us along with him.
After alegre (luv that girl :), i wonder if she is a hottie? brains and beauty, both?) led the exodus from Daily kos with the bloggers' strike, markos went ape$hit, throwing everything INCLUDING the kitchen plumbing at Hillary. It was almost as if he despised the clintons for everything they had done for the democratic party over the last two decades.
ENTER RUSHBOTS
Then, of course, comes rush with his 'vote hillary campaign. This little plan of his had a two fold aim:
1. To take the attention off the fact that he wasn't influential enough to push McCain out of the race
2. To delegitimize Hillary's honest electoral gains (who really thinks that millions of rethugs voted for Hillary? not me...it was all smoke and mirrors...)
What was rush's aim? To simply cause strife between democrats. He was doing secretly what Markos was doing in the open. Maybe they're working together, what do I know. One thing is sure: by openly gaming the rethug primary (this is not even open to debate, his diary asking us to do it still stands) he gave rush all the excuse he needed to do the same to us.
It makes me wonder if Markos ever really stopped being a republican. Maybe HE'S the mole we've been looking for.
THANK YOU MARKOS
May you pay one day for this. I sincerely hope you get your comeuppance.
HILLARY-ALEGRE 08
Something hit me as strange when I heard Obama give his talk about how it took 45 minutes for the moderators of this week's debate to finally hit on the 'issues' that 'voters care about'.
At first it made sense, right? Talk about the issues, right?
Sure, that's why it was such a slick political move.
See, Obama built his whole campaign around how he would campaign. He harped on it over and over. HE never talked about the issues. He only spoke of hope, or change, or new politics.
This is the reason that his sudden care of the 'issues' rings so hollow.
MEMO TO OBAMA: If you wanted the media to ask you about the issues, then you should have talked about the issues. But you refused, instead you wanted to discuss the phenomenom that is OBAMA...the CHANGE you would bring...the HOPE you would fulfill.
THIS is why your personal relationships are fair game. You want to unify?
THen why do you go to a church where hate is commonplace?
You want to reach across the aisle?
Then why do you openly lie and misrepresent the views of you opponents?
You want to create change?
Then why do you insist on practicing the same old politics of Chicago's political machine?
You see, Obama, YOU made this election about YOU.
That's why you are fair game.
Have fun.
UPDATE: Here is the first link I've seen.
The party stripped Florida and Michigan of their delegates to the national convention in Denver because they ignored party rules and moved their primaries to January.
"We are committed to making sure that we do everything in our power to seat a delegation from Florida," Dean said. "We believe we will seat a delegation from Florida."
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8VPR5B80&show_article=1This story hasn't broke on the internet yet as I've seen, so I don't have a link yet. But its been reported in the media that Dean has said that the Fl delegates WILL be seated at the convention.
This is huge, considering that there will be no revote. And it's the right thing to do.
All the votes must be counted.
This is something the Obama backers have forgotten, but its a basic fundamental democratic tenet.
COUNT THE VOTES
Bravo, Mr Dean.
Ill update this story as the afternoon goes on..
